Conflict Resolution and Negotiations
Kestrel uses the Mouton Blake Managerial Grid as the basis for the Partnership Model for conflict resolution and negotiations. On the x access of the grid is the value of the Result; on the y access is the value of the Relationship. The model is a graphic way of understanding that, to maintain a partnership, the parties have to operate in the upper right quadrant the vast majority of the time. That is to say in the range between Compromise and Collaboration. Conflict Avoidance, Accommodation, and Competition can all be appropriate in a competitive environment but Compromise and Collaboration are the essential mode for maintaining a partnership. |
