Contractor and Consultant Performance Management

Kestrel assists clients in managing the performance of existing consultants and contractors who may have lost their motivation or focus over time. We also work with clients to develop contracting methods and contracts that align the consultants’ or contractors’ interest with the clients’ interests. Often, these arrangements involve performance-based compensation for consultants, contractors and suppliers. Kestrel is adept at developing a specific metrics and the terms and conditions that will best align the interest and induce the consultant or contractor to perform at or above all of the standards needed.

With remediation, design and construction management experience spanning four decades, Kestrel’s Principals have learned how to improve the performance of contractors and consultants.

The following is a summary of the services we provide in Procurement, Contracting and Performance Improvement:

  • Assess action plans, performance objectives and criteria for selected sites.
  • Recommend changes to performance objectives and criteria aimed at producing cost savings over time frames established by Client.
  • Review and assess the performance of current Contractors and Consultants for selected sites.
  • Assess current contracting methods for Consultants and Contractors, including payment provisions, performance standards and terms.
  • Develop model scopes for common services, including typical work packages.
  • Develop standard compensation structure models and contract terms (e.g., lump sum, T&E with guaranteed max, shared savings, performance scorecard, results-based).
  • Prequalify Contractors and Consultants for competitive procurement for selected sites or site groupings.
