Kestrel provides engineering services for environmental sites and environmental control processes from concept to concrete. Over the past two decades, environmental consulting firms have often segregated conceptual alternatives analysis and conceptual design engineering from detailed engineering needed to build or implement the work. Some consulting firms provide no detailed engineering, while others provide virtually no conceptual engineering.

Kestrel believes that the best engineering results come from engineers who are trained and encouraged to think conceptually, while also developing and maintaining the capabilities to produce detailed engineering plans and to follow their designs into the field and to participate in building or implementing them. Call it holistic, call it old fashioned, but no matter what you call it, that’s the way engineering should be done.

Kestrel staff includes civil, environmental, mechanical, and chemical engineers. We partner with selected firms on structural, electrical, instrumentation, and specialty engineering. We develop engineering concepts and detailed design for remediation of soils, sediments, and groundwater. We also engineer air emissions control, wastewater treatment, hazardous waste treatment, and beneficial use systems. Kestrel’s strong capabilities in site engineering enable us to provide extraordinarily well thought-out land redevelopment plans for contaminated properties and to develop master site plans for manufacturing plant siting and expansion.

One of Kestrel’s specialties is development of innovative technology application designs. We also provide management services for large engineering projects as owner’s representative.
